Pre wash drain cycle works well and pumps at full bore then machine simply floods and hums. without beginning wash cycle. tried on upper basket only and lower only with same result. degunged filters and pump inlet , checked spray bars, nothing unusual, water is simply not getting there.
Is the drain pump also the wash pump?
I need to dig a bit deeper into this problem but am not sure of the next dismantling step, does the undertray drop away to reveal all or is it actually the module that I need to release from the stainless box where two screwed clips seem to clamp the drain pump assembly to it?
Model is the french version but it has worked happily for 2 years in france and 4 in UK before todayRe: bosch SGS55942FF/07 not washing

The drain pump is as it says and same with wash pump 😀
If it drains ok then that eliminates that pump.
It sounds to me that the wash pump has failed in someway. 😕Unplug if yopu are to investigate further :plug:

With great difficulty ( I never designed it 😳 ) On its LHS base off, if in doubt please use engineer link below 😉

Thanks, it is as daunting as I suspected.
Fortunately I could see the wash pump motor stator through a gap when the right hand panel was removed. It strained a milimetre when the wash cycle started confirming pump had jammed. Power off I reversed the stator a couple of turns with a screw driver and it has self cleared.
For the record it is clear in retrospect the jam was caused by stopping machine early in the cycle when rinse was dirty. Wife was not happy leaving machine to finish as we left for a few days. unlucky perhaps but then we could just as well have had an unattended flood or fire.
