    Hi,

I have just moved into a new house and have discovered that our built-under oven is faulty (a Nardi FE867 which keeps cutting out).

We are looking for a quick fix to this problem; either we get this unit repaired or find a replacement. My wife is 38 weeks pregnant and is already threatening to throw my club hammer through the oven door.

Regarding possible replacements, the problem is that our aperture depth is limited to about 500mm max, due to an old capped-off gas pipe sticking out the wall. We could increase this to about 520-530mm if the pipe is removed or cut back and capped-off back to the wall.

Most built-in oven manufacturers seem to require around 550mm aperture installation depth (i.e. too deep). However, this particular Nardi oven is only 476mm deep (and requiring 490mm aperture depth – the “A2” type of Nardi installation plan) as seen in:

It seems that only Nardi make ovens with such shallow depths, so it looks like we might be forced to get another Nardi. But my wife will be mardy if we get another Nardi.

    Q. Can anyone recommend any other makes or models of oven which may fit into our current cabinet space? (560 x 580 x 500) W x H x D

If not, then we’ll have to get a Corgi man to come and make our offending gas pipe disappear!

    Many thanks,

    Tom

    Re: replacement shallow depth oven?

    Hi Tom

Sadly I cannot find anything at all which would fit into the space you have. I even checked nardi not even anything like that listed either 😕

I think you will need to make space for a standard 60 x 60 cm oven.

Thanks for checking Don…we’ve now booked a gas engineer to come and remove or cut-back the offending pipe…then we should be in good shape to look at more ovens…

    Many thanks!
