hi it takes me about 20 mins to strip down to investigate, tub out and split, depends how bad bearings are if they are seized on drum shaft etc. I normally strip on the first visit, if it needs extra parts ordering to come back etc. If you have never done one before it will take you a lot longer. I can strip and replace drum and tub back in around 50 mins, thats if I have parts with me! if you need any advice email me.

posibly the only difference is the pulley bolt. on the newer machines they fit a counter sunk allen screw that is loctited in, it can be difficult to remove, this is one of the reasons I strip on first visit, if the bolt head rounds it means replacing the drum, tub back and pulley.

Ah……. the allen key pulley bolt. Forget the allen keys – no chance. I bought a set of automotive quality Torx bits a few years back, which fit into a 3/8″ drive. Belt the size that doesn’t quite fit (sorry, late, tired, cleaned up at the pub quiz 😀 ) into the bolt head and it will come out……….
