have been to several of these machines now with customer saying it is stopping in cycle, yet can never find a fault. has any one got any answers. hotpoint 7822 it is the same as the old bosch an i have had the same complaint with that. have tried the timer once. i think it may be loom breaking as have had that on several of these d/w. HELP

Is it stopping at any one particular spot in the cycle, is it full of water or not, is it heating ?

stopping full of water in what looks like the heating phase not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} if its hot

Well it’s time to test that heater element as likely as not it has failed then? 😉

OK so I guess either the heater contact in the timer has burnt out (it can be repaired by the way) or the wiring harness adjacent the door hinge has a broken wire going to the heater? 😉

OK so the next line of enquiry is the water block on the inlet valve? First question?…Is the water level matrix and hoses to it clean and clear? (especially the clear air tube to the inlet valve? Blow thru it from the valve end to be sure?)

Second question? Safety stat? (Assuming the machine fills washes and drains without probs?) then once its full and washing away merrily on the main wash and final rinse the heater should switch on after 60 seconds from F1 fill completion. Is that stat closed?

    dealdd,

have you checked the door switch ❓ If it has the old style bosch switch they were prone to over heat on load ❗ There is a mod kit too. 🙂 Part no 1800544.

There was a problem a few years ago due to the “umbrella” cap on the over temp stat.

This was only fitted on the machines with only one 85C stat and caused localised heating around the stat. The umbrella cap was modified to a smaller profile.

is that the one with the old corrogted hose from the meter tank to sump?, can get sludged up, overfill cuts in & machine stops
