ParticipantHi All – Above unit is exhibiting the following on any programme:
Water heard to pump in initially, then instead of normal wash cycle starting, the unit just buzzes – no pumping or spray arms turning. It seems that the programmer runs through it’s sequence because the detergent drawer still opens later on.
If left to completetion, the inside is full of water. I can then hold down the two front panel reset buttons, and this will pump out the water and stop in a minute or so.
I have checked the impellor by the filters which is clear and turning.
Any advise gratefully received as to what is likely or where I could look next.
Thanks

Hi
With the unit unplugged you could remove r/h side panel and check the recirculation motor isn’t jammed, if it turns freely then worth trying a new start capacitor on that motor 😉Greg

Panel off – motor seems very hard to turn, and only by wedging a screwdriver on the fins. It also won’t go aound a full rotation without jamming.
Is it possible that there is an obstruction somewhere, and what’s the best approach for this?
Thanks

Sounds like an obstruction TBH 😥
There really is no easy way as its a solid base.
The way I do it is to loosen base and sides off then lie it on its lhs and remove motor from there 😯
Power off first of course 😉Greg

I think I agree that laying machine on the side will give easiest access to motor – not sure how it’s fixed in. Obviously 2 rubber damping straps will come off, but does the motor separate where the cast housing meets the plastic behind? Tricky to see at the moment…
Much appreciating your help.
