ParticipantHi, I have a problem as the light flashes 4 times then a pause etc. Have read a number of threads n this site and therefore cleaned the sump and the black grille right-hand side in sump, (it was blocked with white gunge). Still light flashes. Looked underneath but you need a special ‘star’ tool to undo base plate so left it alone!
Pressing button does nothing. Held it in for a couple of seconds and it starts but with the light off and no water entering! After a couple of minutes it stops. More fiddling and it will run with light on but no water!
Any ideas?

Also, Had a look in the salt container at the bottom and this is full of water. Should it be?

Hi
You will have to get yourself a torx 20 tool to open that panel at the bottom.
It will probably have water in the tray that needs emptying probably due to overfill from gunged water indicater 😉
Power off before attempting :plug:Greg
PS – Yes there shold be water in the salt unit, make sure you put cap back on tight before using appliance 😀

Thanks for that. But where do I get a Torx 20 tool from if it’s not a silly question?!

If not tight, you may find a normal Allen (hex) key will do the job at a pinch

Allen key worked a treat!
Got the base plate off but now faced with all sorts! There is a large plastic chamber/tank that is the salt container but alongside is another plastic chamber where the water inlet goes that seems to be full of encrusted orange crystal-like stuff! Is this a problem? You mention the tray maybe having water in it that needs to be emptied but the plastic chamber looks like the base is sealed on and not designed to be removed?
Meantime, managed to get the water sensor filter off, (tight or what?), and still appears to be very choked. So will clean that better and re-fit and see what happens!
Update: Works fine now. Thanks for the advice. I know where to come next time. Tip for anyone else with similar problem though. Difficult access to clean filter on water sensor in sump in-situ. I thought I’d cleaned it but until you remove it from below you don’t really see how much hidden gunge there is behind it. Careful use of a straightened paper clip and toothbrush with hot water did the trick. 😀
