diplomat select 620, the ignition keeps firing

hi,
any advice would be much appreciated, suddenly from yesterday whenever the cooker mains is switched on the ignition keeps firing continuosly. curiously it was only in one hob , now it is in all the hobs. when the knob is pressed the frequency of firing increases and the frequency decreases when the pressure is taken of the knob. thanks

It cant fire on just one hob its just that you would only have noticed it firing on the one at first, possible damp/sticking connection, worked on alot of these hobs in the past, sometimes they stop themselves sometimes it needs a new generator (the switch and generator are 1 unit) its not a diy job esp. due to the construction of these hobs so its up to you what to do next, can be a costly repair on these though so get proper quotations before committing.

Thank you very much. As you said it did stop firing on its own. only hope it doesnt happen again.

Hi

I have a Diplomat select 620 oven (AYH36) and it is a total electric oven…. is yours a gas one?? How odd that they have the smae model number?!?!? 😯

620 is a generic product group. Model number would be AHY36–, so you’re two digits short.
