ParticipantI have the above machine which has stopped spinning. This has happened in the past and a clean of the filter has sorted the problem. Not this time. I can see the propellor (!) spinning in the filter hole if i look at it when its turned on. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

ParticipantIf the water is draining ok and you’ve got no drum action at all then i’d suggest it’s the carbon brushes in the motor . Normally happens after 3-5 years use.
Is the model number actually WFO 2860 maybe ?
The only thing to be aware of is that there is two kinds of motor fitted to these machines each with a different set of brushes !!!Power off if investigating 😯

Thanks for the response and yes, it is a WFO 😳
How do i know if the brushes are gone, is it obvious to see and are they easy to replace?
Thanks again

Hi
First inclination they are wearing is a poor spin. Visually when new they are approx 1.5″ in length just to give you a guide to how worn yours may be 😀Unplug appliance before investigating :plug:

I had similar problem with mother in laws FWO2865GB/08 : washed OK but wouldn’t spin out, checked the drain pipe and it was blocked with sludge, cleared this out and it worked fine, for a week, now the brushes have failed.
My question is, how do I get the motor out? I know this sounds daft but I can’t figure out how to undo the bushes that hold the motor to the drum. I removed the self tapping bolts but can’t get any further. Am I missing something clever or do the nylon spacers just pry out? Looking at them I see three small slots and wonder if they unscrew in some way with a clever BOSCH service tool?

ParticipantStevie-j , once you have the two bolts out , its just a matter of levering the motor off. It has four hang points so get a big flat bladed screwdriver and use this to get behind the nylon bushings. The bushings stay with the motor.

Fantastic, I clearly over complicated this one in my head. Out in seconds. 😀 Thanks for that nomadPaul.
