Industry sources have suggested that appliance brand Baumatic that was placed into administration earlier this month has been sold.
We understand that there were a number of parties interested in attempting to rescue the brand from administration, including Midea, Bertazzoni, Pikapac, Amica among others and rumour had it that Currys were looking to take on the engineering workforce employed to service the Baumatic brand products although this is unconfirmed.
Reports from wihtin the industry suggest that the brand has now been bought by Candy.
Quite what the future is for the Baumatic brand name is unclear at present but we have been told that many staff have been made redundant by the administrator.
We also have no knowledge of what the fate of any existing products are or the warranties on those products that are still within the warranty period offered by Baumatic as some products carried a five year parts warranty.
