    Hi,
Does anyone carry out PAT testing? I assumed it was for portable appliances like computers, microwaves, fridges etc. A customer asked me about PAT testing an electric cooker. Is that possible?

    Thanks

    Hi Furhan

If you select the search option at the top of the page and type in PAT into the top line, there is loads of reading to be had 8)

    Hi,
I have searched the forum and found general posts but nothing specific to what I am looking for i.e. specific to cookers.

Unless I have misunderstood the regs – unless the cooker has a fitted 13 amp plug, they are not classed as portable appliances and would be tested in the normal fashion. Any cookers connected by seperate wall plate supply are classed as fixed appliances.
