    Hi

My 2 year old Beko washing machine has started tripping the RCD in my fuse box. This happens almost immediately after the door has been closed and the start button has been pressed.

I have tried disconnecting a number of components and have found that removal of the motor connections stops this from happening and allows the machine to start to take in water.

Does this suggest that it is the motor that is leaking to earth or could there be another possible cause? I have removed the motor and examined the brushes and checked for any obvious shorts to earth with a multimeter and everything seems ok. I have however been unable to perform an earth leakage test on the motor or any other component.

I am also confused as to why the machine should trip the RCD at the beginning of the cycle before the motor would start to agitate the drum.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Gary
