Up until yesterday our washing machine was fine.

My partner turned it on and it tripped the power in the house. Tried again and same thing.

I had a look this morning and it turned on but as soon as the motor was to start the power tripped again.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Hi Mark,

We’d need a make and model number to start to help I’m afraid.

    Hi

I have a Zanussi Turbo Washer Dryer Model WDT 1085.

It starts and within in seconds it trip the power in the house. This happend several times today.

I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

    Thank you

Might have been better in a separate thread but the only way forward is to check all the components and visually inspect the wiring etc. For this you will need a meggar or multimeter and the ability to use it correctly, with the mains plug removed of course.

    Thanks Jim.

In the end i called a local repair shop, and he sent a man round to look at it and he said the protector needed replacing. He charged £35 for five minutes work and he was reluctant to let me see what needed replacing. . Is it about the right price for this type of repair?

Somehow I get the feeling I’ve paid over the top for this!

If he fitted a door lock for £35, you got a bargain.
