1st light flashing means that the base is flooded, a very common complaint on these Indesit made machines. It is often caused by using 3 in 1, 4 in 1 or 5 in 1 tablets. you should try to use separate detergent and rinse aid plus salt if required or try Fairy Active Bursts.
If you pull the machine out, place a few towels on the floor and tilt it to one side, you should find water running out from underneath. Try the machine again without any dishes or detergent.
You can also avoid the filter problem if you remember the saying, “it is a dishwasher, not a waste disposal unit”, rinse them plates off first 😉 .

oh not good then,
the thing is, we don’t use tablets and we rinse our plates and stuff off before placing them in the dishwasher..
What do you mean by the base unit??
as there is no water in the actual unit..

Base unit – the tray enclosing the underside of the machine. It has a polystyrene float in it with a microswitch on top. Tray fills, float rises, switch trips, fault code.

Once the float switch has triggered then the machine should not fill anymore, it should just drain or do nothing other than flash the error code.

Second lamp…….. inlet valve failure. Look, you’re getting nowhere with a pretty shoddy bit of equipment. If you like it, pony up and get some help. If you don’t, we know a man with a trebuchet.
We can sit here and tell you what the codes mean (technically….) until the cows come home. Until some practical investigation is done with the appropriate test equipment, you’re wasting your own time.
