ParticipantHi,
The UK Whitegoods faults book (pages 53-54) shows two possibilities of
wash progress columns but the closest is the one I have shown below.Novotronic 3.
A flashing `Rinses` LED indicates either `Tacho OC` (Presumed motor
tacho) or `Motor brushes worn`.The W842 I am attending to is neither of the ones in the book but is titled
a Premierenovo or Novopremiere, can`t remember which 😳No sign of any numbers as the Novotronic 1 & 2 or Novotronic 3.
The customer washed a bag of ropes from his yacht in the machine and
found that the machine had moved across the floor on his return. When used again there was no motor action.
I Have tested the motor circuits and they are fine.
I am now assuming the control module is use (no sign of any component
on the module having blown).Again from the faults book for Novotronic 1 & 2 (which is not similar to the
W842 wash progress column of lights) show `Rinse 3` as a control
module failure. There seems from this, to be some precedence for a control module fault
to show through the `Rinse` indicators.I need to know if the W842 has a different fault legend, does anyone
know it and does my conclusion seem reasonable.Always scary ones these as the part hass probably got a big price tag.
Thanks
Laurence

Basically its the electronic saying that its sent power to motor but did not receieve a signal back from tacho to indicate movement.
I’ve had to replace motors, motor modules, brushes & electronics with this fault
Most likely fault is that motor wasn’t able to turn drum & has possibly damaged it, take it off & look for damage to armature, or carbon brushes

Hi Seamy,
Thanks for your response.
I have removed the brush and tacho housing from the front of the motor
and checked brushes and tacho cct – all ok.The field windings have a cct as does the armature and the cut out is good.
It seems the motor is good.

KeymasterLaurence,
I assume that is that modell with square PCB on lower right corner of door…
You have there wiring diagram… check wiring and motor on PCB connectors and thermosafety device from motor too…
Also from PCB measure if is gone 6Ampers saftydevice (brun or blue little cylinder near motor connector), motor relays or if you are able check also motor transistors&diodes (depending on model)…
Panel buttons block also can do this…January 22, 2008 at 8:08 pm #240646clayside

Thanks for the feedback folks, it`s much appreciated.
Hi Baron,
How`s things?
This one has module behind facia panel.Hi Clayside,
Thanks for the reassurance and that`s the part number Miele gave

KeymasterAaaa, is that model with new model of holes on tube… like honeycomb…there is one transistor (something like IRGB…) and one suppressor diode…
Anyway… verify if PCB is “seeing” motor like I told you so, and if wires and motor (both coils, rotor, tacho and cut-in) are in good stage then sure is PCB… -
