Channel into pump chamber blocked, pump blocked/failed. Water backs up and leaks into fan chamber, water into heater, bang.

    Drum out, demolish and clean.

If you lie down on the floor, or lie the machine on its back if you’re not as sprightly as us young un’s. 😉 you can reach into the rear of the condensor chamber and clean the channels with your fingers, then from the rear poke a large bag tie through the hole the water flows through into the float chamber to complete the job, never fails.
