assigned repairers for whitegoods

I asked advice on the forum for an approved repairer for my oven, Huby Electrics were recommended, they contacted me. I knew what the problem was with my oven, the thermostat wasnt working, as I have two ovens, it was obvious when the thermostat light was staying on and of course the oven tem was incorrect. They insisted on charging my credit card £70 over the phone before they came out. Imagine my surprise when a man called, switched the oven on, noticed the light wasnt working and told me what I had already told them!! He then said he would order a part. This was in the beginning of Dec 07. They have not contacted me since. The truth is they charged me £70 to tell me what I had already told them, their offices are only about 3 miles away!! Then they didnt even have the courtesy to call me or let me know about the spare part. I definitely would never use them again and would advise others not to.
