Can someone confirm that these machines spin in a clockwise direction.
I was in a house yesterday repairing the dishwasher and the customer asked if I could explain why her new washing machine seems to be poorer spin performance than her old 800 rpm machine.
It’s still under guarantee so I didn’t get too involved, however I was amazed to see it spinning anticlockwise! I would have put money on it that all Hotpoint appliances spin clockwise.
Any advice?
Bob

Dunno about the WF range but I know all the 95,WM and WMA’s spin anti-clockwise. After changing thousands of brushes, switching on and watching them lurch into life again! 😉

Is this from the front or back. My WMA spins clockwise looking from the front.

The ones with the welded tub spin anti clockwise.

You’re wrong there Martin. All the Hotpoint machines I have seen spin clockwise. Until perhaps the new WF range…

I wonder why, could it be because the pump has been moved to the front and the motor has been shifted to the other side of the drum allowing easier access to the awful Merloni PCB?
I opened one up last week to see a label on the back of the PCB…… ‘Made in Romania’ :rolls:

the down side to this is that you have to hang corks on your hat before you fix it 😆

Yeah sorry cock, I’ve just spotted my error of looking at the machine from the back….DOH! 😳
I went to my first WF761P today (yes I know, lucky me eh! :rolls: ) and it spins clockwise like all the rest.( looking at the front this time) 😉 😉 😉
However, I did notice that the distribution tumble for a full 7kg load (yes 7kg of bl**dy bath towels and bath sheets – jammed solid in there – frightening :rolls: ) leaves a lot to be desired. 😕 And it doesn’t stop and reverse tumble either to try to distribute the clothes. It just slows to almost a stop and the clothes loosen slightly and then a fraction of a second later it does it again. And on and on through the 18 minutes spin only cycle without spinning. Taking 2 bath sheets out solved the problem.
What a load of garbage these machines are.. 😈
Incidentally, the lady phoned me this morning to tell me the machine was making a horrendous noise! In fact I could here it very loud in the background and suggested she turn it off immediately. 😯
I called round this afternoon only to find 3 empty cat food cans jammed between the back panel and the wall….. :rotfl:
