    Help

My daughter had her electrics trip. By the time I got there my SiL had discovered that the tumble dryer was tripping the circuit breaker (main not just the individual circuit) even if the wall socket was turned off. I suspect an earth to neutral short but where should I start looking?

    The make is Electra Reversair.

Plug, mains cable, terminal block or main filter, if one’s fitted?

Whatever it is, it has to be an absolute dead short surely and easy to find with a meter.

I can’t think on why TBH I’m having a guess as I’ve never seen an appliance do that, normally they have to be energised to throw up a fault.

It does the same whichever socket it is plugged into.
