ParticipantHi
New to this forum, but thought I’d give it a try.
We’ve had the Ariston A1435 from new, and its done us well for the past 6 years until last week.
On anything faster than 400rpm spin, the drum bangs around like a good ‘un. Had the back and lid off to see if it was anything obvious (power off of course), and all looked surprisingly “new” in there.
I appreciate its probably outlasted its product lifespan but thought I’d see if there’s a cheaper remedy than buying a new machine. If not, any recommendations for a 7kg capacity under £350?
Thinking of Bosch but could be persuaded otherwise.ta

Open the door and see if you can ‘lift’ the inner drum away from the door seal, it does sound as though the drum support may have snapped, could be loose concrete balance weights, easy enough to check those. Time to retire it if the drum support has failed. Bosch is a more than adequate replacement. 8)
PS. how many 7kg loads do you think you will actually wash. 😉

Cheers, will have a look but may just plump for a new one.
Any views on the Hotpoint Aqualtis?
Has a child lock button which is very necessary.
7kg wash needed due to said child etc.ta

Have you actually weighed your average wash load?
There are far better machines on the market for the same price, most machines have a child lock function.
Lots of usful info in this article.

Just a thought have a look at the Bosch Exxcel range all but one has a 7kg load capacity. The range starts with the WAE24467GB which has a 1200 spin but others are available. They also come with a full two year warranty.
Much better than the Aqualtis IMO 😉

I was repairing a tumble dryer at a small local cafe this morning, they had one of these in the cellar, it was huge. 😯 I thought it was a commercial machine at first.

The question is, will it last as long as the 13 year old Hoover Softwave it replaced. 😉
