ParticipantHi,
our Margherita 2000 AL 128D is filling up water, starts the progtam but efter a bout 10 min it just stops. I have read most of the links and checked the pre-chamber, cleaned it so it should be fine. However there are five blinks when it stops. Could someone tell me what to do next, or should I call a technician? Thanks ๐January 26, 2008 at 4:20 pm #241146helo_75

CCH, are you posting from the UK or Holland?
That model number does not seem to be in the UK list for Ariston machines.
However, if it is similar to the AL128XBE that is sold here then it has a filter behind the plastic kickstrip along the bottom edge of the machine at the front.

We rather like Swedish washers here at Ukwhitegoods. 8)
Far superior to the machine you have sadly.

If you can find a filter behind the kick strip then that filter body is part of the drain pump assembly. Some Indest/Ariston machines do not have a filter, you may just see a round plastic blank with two bolt heads. These bolts hold the pump to the machine.
Mains plug out, tilt the machine back , get a bowl underneath and a few towels handy. Pump is quite obvious from underneath, you may need to remove it to clear certain types of obstruction.

No filter but the rest seems to be right. BUT – checked the prechamber again and this time found that the propeller, no clue if thats what to call it in english, sorry, was stuck, but fixed that and now it seems to be working…
Thanks again for quick replies amd good help ๐January 28, 2008 at 11:25 pm #241154iadom

The thing you turn and pull out is a filter of sorts, it traps all the things that shouldn’t really go into the machine.
You may have dislodged a small item that was jamming the pump impellor, it only takes a very small item to stop it.
Glad you sorted it.
Jim.
PS. I like Swedish cars as well, on my 7th Volvo estate. 8)
