Don’t normally go out on a Sunday morning, and would never soil my hands on one of these Antonio Merloni heaps, but it is for my niece, relations eh. :rolls: 😀

She said it seemed to feel hot on the glass then wouldn’t do anything. The ‘hot glass’ may be a red herring.

Select any programme and door locks and then nothing, apart from when you select Prog G, spin only, door locks, pump runs but no motor action.

Motor brushes hardly worn and making good contact, no visible signs of damage on module.

I’ve told her to bin it and buy a Neff but money is tight ATM.

Is it likely to be the module, first time I have poked around in one of these, likely to be the last as well.

Jim – Can you confirm that module is 546021400 or 546021401? if I’ve got one in the van I’ll pop it in the post for you. Ian

Morning Ian, label on bottom of machine says 546021400, does it sound like a module fault then?

If you have one that would be great, do you have my address or should I PM/e-mail it to you.

Heater OC can cause strange faults on these machines. I’d be looking at blocked reservoir leading to OC heater first of all.

If this has been checked definitely the module.

    Yes.

Never have got out the habit of calling it a reservoir. As in Hoover pressure reservoir. Took me ages to stop saying tub shell gaskets.

    😆

    Did you check it anyway?

easy to clear out Jim, a bit of squeezing like milking a cow normally shifts it, no need to take it off. Having said that, odds on its the module gone.

Have you ever milked a cow Mark. 😯

Before you ask, I have milked hundreds, 8) before I got into this game at Hotpoint I worked six years full time on farms, some local others in Derbyshire and near Blackburn. I always said then that if I could get the wages Hotpoint paid me and could work on the farm I would have gone right back to it.

In 1968/9 on the farm I was earning £12.00 per week for 5 full days and Sat/Sun till dinnertime, around a 65 hour week. I went to Hotpoint and got £35.00 pw and a huge Ford Transit, Perkins Diesel engined van, I thought I had won the pools*.

*Editors note, for our younger readers insert ‘lottery’ 😆
