    Hi Folks.

I went to an installation the other day which worries me somewhat.

This is a recently completed conversion of a 2nd floor property carried out by a large and reputable buiding company. The factors which concern me are..

    (1) The double sink unit did not have any overflows fitted.

    (2) The overflow inlets on the trap assembly had been used to connect the w/m and d/w. (push in fit only). I needed to remove and reconnect this connection in order to move the dishwasher for access.

What happens if the client leaves the tap running? Are you not supposed to connect the appliances to a proper spigot and secure with a hose clip? This connection did not seem to be sound enough to me.
Is this acceptable practice which complies with building regs?

I hope I have made this clear. I realise that this should probably be in the “other trades” forum, but it doesnt look as if that forum gets many hits, and I would like to receive a prompt response to this enquiry as if my concerns are valid I need to dash a disclaimer off to the landlord concerned.

    Regards,
    Mike
