Hi guys, after 18 months of splendid dishwashing my machine has stopped working. At first about 3/4 of the way through the cycle the machine would stop and i got the repetitive beeping i’ve read about on here. I turned the machine off at the plug and re-started the cycle and it’s worked fine for the last week. Today only 5-10 minutes into the cycle the machine has tripped the house electric and is full of water. I’ve tried turning it off at the wall and restarting the cycle but as soon as i turn it on it trips the electric again and again.

I’ve rang my local dishwasher/electrical retailer and he said to cut my losses and get a new one as diplomat parts are expensive and hard to get a hold of.

Is this true and can anyone help/identify the problem?

    Thanks, Dave

The machine is made by Whirlpool, so spares are easily available although certain items are expensive.

As to what has actually happened – hard to tell. Heater failure can cause the RCD to trip, as can the base getting soaked by split outlet hose from the circulation pump. Someone’s got to take a look to find out.

If it’s going to be you, power off first.
