For some months we have been planning to survey the people in the UK appliance trade to get their views on a number of topics and, today, we are ready to allow people to begin giving us their feedback.
Insofar as we know, this kind of survey has never been done before in our industry or, even attempted.
There are two surveys running, one for appliance repairers or retailers primarily and one for commercial clients of small appliance repair companies such as manufacturers, insurers and so on which is open to all staff at these organisations.
The aim of these surveys is to help better understand some of the needs of both groups and how that they can work together better. The hope being that we can highlight areas that need attention to help everyone have an easier life.
For this time however we’ve kept the survey fairly brief with about forty questions on each to judge how well people participate and, so that we do not take up too much of your valuable time.
We could have gone much more in-depth but decided against it for the first pass of this initiative.
What We Will Do With The Information
Once we have a statistically viable sample we will collate the results and present them at the Whitegoods Conference in March, you can find out more about that here or, simply register to attend from this link.
Of course there are far more reasons that this to attend the conference.
Apart from the brilliant opportunity to meet and talk to many key people in the industry there are new products being launched as well as new brands who will be looking to recruit service partners along with the interesting talks that we are all used to at the conferences.
We also intend to publish the anonymous results openly in the forums or, if justified, in a news article for all to see what the general opinions are in the the topic areas covered. The more responses that we get from both survey groups, we feel the more valuable that the results will become to the trade in general.
We think that the results should prove to be most interesting and will allow us to demonstrate a number of key points about our industry.
However, that relies on you taking the time to participate in our experiment, we hope you will because it might help us and the WTA to help you better.

All submissions are in confidence, we will not reveal who said what as that is not the point of these surveys at all, the point is to get general opinion in statistical terms. However, in order to stop us from getting spam or false forms we have had to restrict access to only registered members.

How To Login
To login you simply need to know your forum username and password.
Then if you look at the top of any page of the website outside the forums you will see the following at the top, in the header:
The marked area is where you need to click to login.
A popup will appear that allows you to enter your details, do so and click “Login” and you should then show as being logged into the site. You can do this on the survey page as well if needs be.
Without logging in you will be unable to complete the survey.
