Questions about ISE10

Our Hotpoint “Ultima” has given up after a rather disappointing 2 years and 11 months. I think the main bearing has gone (it made a loud bang and then wobbled across the utility room floor), so rather than throw good money after bad (£320 for just under 3 yrs use) we’re considering a quality machine. Like many others we’ve considered Miele, mainly because of the 10 year warranty offer http://www.miele.co.uk/Promotions/Promo … x?fid=6505 but the only models that suit our requirements are quite pricey – the 4446 at £943 (although it may not go well under the worktop in our utility room) or the 3985 at £1200ish!!!!

So… ISE… We’ve read the thread from last year, but it appears that the only models imported to the UK were the AAB version? ukwhitegoods.co.uk only list the AAB 1400rpm spin version – will we be able to get hold of the AAA version of the ISE10? (from a local supplier?) And will it be more expensive?

And what about the warranty? With the 10 year warranty, as it’s insurance backed, is there an excess to pay for each claim? (assuming something were to go wrong!?) And in case of a repair, would we have to pay for the repair up front and claim back the cost from insurance policy? Or do repairers charge to ISE UK directly?

And.. I would be interested to hear from anyone who’s bought and used one – does it clean the clothes well in that short wash cycle time?

And…. what’d the lead time for delivery of an ISE10? We’re in a hurry as the laundry is piling up!

    Help!

    Re: Questions about ISE10

    Hi,

I’ll try to answer as succinctly as I can.

The 1400’s are virtually gone as, frankly, it’s a rather good deal. 😉

There wil be under 10 left in stock I would think.

1600 machines should be in the warehouse the first week of February but I’ve no hesitation in recommending the AAB as the differences aren’t huge. That extra 200rpm makes little to no difference in real world terms in my opinion.

The 1600 AAA will retail for £799 incl.

The warranty has no limit on claims and no excess payments at all. The only way you could have to pay anything is for customer misuse or something like flood damage, most of which are normally covered by home contents insurance. You would not have to pay for any mechanical or electrical component failure at all, not a bean. The warranty is underwritten by AXA so it’s as safe as safe can be.

Lead times depend on where you are pretty much and how quickly ISE can organise it all for you but usually a few days.

All that said, good choice to invest in a decent machine regardless of which you choose to buy, very wise.

    Certainly does… thanks!

I’ve been in touch with Richard at RDS in Newbury, so will very likely place an order with him… can you put my name on one of those 1600 AAAs and ship to to RDS please 😆

    No problem, you are welcome.

As soon as RDS put the order in the machine will be allocated as soon as they are booked onto the system so it shouldn’t take long after that at all normally. Usually we try to get the deliveries out ASAP anyways.

BTW good choice with RDS as well, very good service. 😉

    K.
