ParticipantHello there,
purchased this yes, with an IKEA kitchen back in 2004.
hasn’t worked now for it seems ages.when pooring hot water it will drain.
but won’t do anything else.the red light on the “three plate” setting keeps flashing the red light.
Any idea’s?
When i called the service centre they said it would be a costly repair.
wondering if it is even worth repairing>
many thanks

Three different versions of this one, from 2 different manufacturers, neither of whom are Whirlpool, depite the badge….. Can you have a look round the edge of the door for the label and find the 12 digit number that starts with 8.

Right, sorry for the delay.
You have the SMEG-built machine, which is, of course, the complicated one…….. Not sure from the diagrams which LED you’ve got lit. Can you go left to right 1-5 for me please.

hello there:
First button is rinse only
Second:rapid wash
third: Eco circle
fourth: three plates button (Normal full load circle that’s the button with constant flashing light0
fifth: Pots and pants circle
then comes a black round button that’s for the power.
thank you hope that is what you needed.February 4, 2008 at 9:08 pm #241728Penguin45

Curious – I have a customer in Leeds having the same problem.
We found that the mains suppressor had blown – replacing it seemed to cure it, but have been advised that the problem has returned. I suspect that the PCB has been corrupted in some way, which is likely to prove expensive……….
If lamp 4 was flashing and 5 was lit, it would indicate a flow meter problem on fill – 4 flashing on it’s own suggests a random logic problem.
HTH,
Regards,
