Bosch GSG53C02GB/01 Sump filter stuck

I have come across this on a few of the Bosch dishwashers, the metal filter across the bas of the machine is fixed and the edge has to be prised up so you can remove it from the bas unlike the majority of machines where once you’ve removed the centre the filter plate lifts out easily.

I don’t have a problem with removing these but my customer who apparently called Bosch out under guarantee some time back now has something else in the sump and can’t remove the filter.

Understandably she doesn’t want to pay for a call just for me to do this (More’s the pity) so I said I would see if Bosch have modified the filter for this model to make life easier or if theres any other answer?

Does anyone have any ideas on this?
