Hi I have one of these – not sure how old – we inherited it when we bought the house a year ago. It recently started to make a loud banging noise (like the fan was knocking against something).I’ve taken the cover off, followed by the carbon filter, and finally the fan unit. It seems that the fan itself is a tiny bit wobbly. When I replace the fan and run it it seems fine, but when I put the filter back, or near to it, or just cover the fan unit with my hands the knocking starts again. So do you think I need a new fan, or is it my filter too blocked ?
Thanks

Check the circular black plastic moulding that the motor is fixed on to, if it is damaged it will cause the fault you describe.

JohnHi John – I’ve just had another look and couldn’t find any damage to the housing, but on closer examination of the fan (after I realised I could take it off ) I can see that the ring of plastic that connects the vanes to the disk is broken, and that there is black scuffing on it (I’d seen this yesterday actually). It’s obviously being forced outwards by the spin. So I think I just need a new fan.
Thanks for your help,

Fan and motor assembly, I think you’ll find – p/no 4812 310 39025. An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.

Motor and fan were listed as separate p/nos; however, both supercede to one new number……… They’ve gotcha I’m afraid.

It is – it would be interested to see what would happens if you try to order it. The actual part number was 4819 515 28292 – contact spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk – if it is still available, Dave’ll be able to find it for you.

Just checked and it has not been available for some time. I notice that it says 3-5 days for availability which probably means that it is not a stock item and if so you will probably get an email telling you it is not available when ordered.
