I have a Siemens SF24A262GB/15 which has just suffered a blown controller. I also noticed that two of the tags on the on/off switch were slightly blackened, which could be an indication of the mains inlet. Before fitting a replacement controller (currently on order from BSH), I want to check the condition of the mains cable and interference capacitor.
Problem is, I can’t seem to remove the cable supply. It’s part number is 498262, which looks like a standard fitment to a multitude of Bosch, Neff and Siemens. This is what the cable looks like:

It looks like it should slide up and lift out, but it seems to be catching on something – there’s about 2mm of free play. Before I break it trying to prize it off, I would be grateful of some pointers.
Many thanks in advance.
