ParticipantI’ve tried to do the standard reset but am left with no.1 light on constant and the program button doesn’t do anything,
If I close the door the drain pump runs for about 30 secs then waits 5 secs and the runs again 2 more times and then stops after a long beep.
Opening door I find no2 and 3 are flashing and 5 is constant.
The pump will pump out if I put water in the sump and there’s no water in the bottom tray
Any ideas?! I don’t want to throw it away I’ve got a box of spares in the garage(apart from the PCB) from the previous same model and a new PCB is over 100quid so it’s a big gamble
thanks

Try this:
When you get led 1 lit, press the programme button once, then switch off. Count to ten, switch back on and run the pre-wash programme.Might work………

Strictly speaking, the code means that no drop in water has been detected in the time allowed. If the machine has not emptied – find the blockage. If it has drained, the water level control may be flooded or faulty, switch failed or the PCB may be faulty.
Few things to choose from I’m afraid – power off if you plan to try and solve this yourself.

thanks Penguin, the machine has drained so I’m looking for the water level control and switch
I’m all switched off (don’t worry Dad was an electrician) and looking behind the drain pump at 3 possible switch devices.
1. large circular beige on the front right (3 contacts with 2 connectors on)
2. going further back a black rectangular device with 2 connectors on
3. further back behind the pump a small circular brown protruding device with 2 connectors onWhich should I be looking at? can I short it out to test it?
cheers

and the answer is…the PCB is faulty 🙁 ! just taken it apart and at least 2 of the capacitors have blown but it was still working to some extent.

the PCB was £117 so I took it to Maplins (in Chester), showed it to Richard who sold me 3 capacitors and a transistor for less than a pound. Went home, unsoldered the blown ones, soldered in the new ones and the machine is currently washing dishes…result! 😀
