Hi I have just had a message left on my answer machine, “WD420 all lights flashing except door locked”. I don’t know this machine so I don’t know how many lights are on this machine, but I am assuming that it is a dryer heater relay on the PCB as per the fault code guide, if this is right. Could anyone tell me if this is a site soldering iron job or a replacement board? Is it possible to get the board repaired? Machine about 2 years old. So I may have to advice customer to contact Hotpoint for parts warranty.

    Cheers

unlikely that ‘all’ the lights are flashing, would need to know exactly which ones

thanks hotpnt, I’ll call tomorrow PM, if I can’t sort it I’ll send another post begging for help. I can’t remember the name of the firm that repair/refurbish boards I have used them once but can’t find their contact details. should it be necessary.

A quick update on the fault, It turned out to be a loose connection on the comms cable. A bit of tweeking and everything is OK.
But, am I likely to get this fault again, would I be wiser to order a new cable? or would a new cable not really make much of a difference since it’s the connection to the board that is suspect?

Thanks for the info Chris, now got them in my phone book.
