    Hi,

This machine stopped heating the water but still completed the prog.

I called, checked it out and then selected a prog and it began to heat the water ok.

Didn`t know why it hadn`t heated.

Left it with customer who used it three times ok but now is not heating again.

I attended 2nd time, heater, stat, cabling, water metering all seem ok.

But I don`t know what the pcb sensor does which is attached to the heater
housing – has this anything to do with temperature or should I suspect the main control pcb.

I have had the main pcb apart and found no dry joints which can occur on these parts.

Inspiration would be appreciated – thanks.

I guess you are refering to the Turbidity Sensor on the side of the heater box are you? That’s an infra-red device that works seperately from the heating function.

3 possibilties for it not heating: –

    1. Element intermittent open circuit?
    2. Insufficient water in machine not allowing flow switch to operate?
    3. Dodgy module (relay sticking)?

    Thanks Martin,

Whilst I did not check the heater for a circuit as I had allowed the machine to
go on for about 20 mins after the dispenser had opened (assuming heater
would come on after this happening) but no live was detected at the heater
terminals. I therefore discounted the heater as a problem – besides I thought
heaters either worked or they didn`t (I have had very rare occasions with
washing m/cs when heaters are corroding out and have created a return –
    but I never say never.)

The water level is fine so I am drawn to the control pcb – what a shame.

Thanks for your input again, Martin.

Then it’s got to be the Module Laurence, order it from Bosch to be sure it includes the configuration coding…OK?

Have a really close look for dry joints, especially around the low voltage side of the relays. I mean use a magnifier.
