    Re: hotpoint BFI620 ERROR MESSAGE

Heater fault, very common on these Indesit machines.

Most common causes are the heater or the control PCB.

Checking the heater for continuity/resistance would be the first step.

Be sure to remove the mains plug if you intend to proceed further yourself.

thank you very much. I have booked a hotpoint engineer but they can’t come ruond for 2 weeks. Do you think it is a problem that could easily be fixed by a local engineer? – are the relevant parts easy to get?
    thanks again.

There is a very strong possibility that a local independent could fix this for less than the Indesit Company Ltd’s labour charge, neither part is that expensive. Have you tried the link below to see if we have someone in your area?

    Hi

The most probable fault is the thermal cut out in the base of the appliance.

TOC’s are part of the element assy on these Bryan, module failure is every bit as common a no heat cause as element.

In any event, a local chap would almost certainly be less expensive than manufacturers service.
