    Just looking for a little advice if its out there

    a drum paddle on our Hotpoint BWD129 washing machine broke loose – I bought a new one fitted it and it broke

    Now, I know I ignored the metal tab and should have secured it with that

    my question is – can this securing tab on the drum be pulled back into place without removing the washing machine – i.e. through the holes in the top of the paddle and does anyone have practical advice on doing this – what type of tool to use

    lift it up BEFORE you put the paddle in, it bends down, and springs up after the paddle goes over it

    simple as that

    Thats great thanks for the advice – so i presume that the metal tab does not have to be pulled all the way up, just enough to stop the paddle moving back

    Bend tab up to approx 30 degrees. You’ll hear it snap into place as the paddle locates.

    Don’t do your trainers in this machine.
