ParticipantHi, I have a problem with my MW511 washing machine, I know I’m in good company there! I found this site googling and saw how many F+P threads there are and immediately wondered how long til i have to register here i wonder? Well, that time has now come!
Firstly the machine has been faultless since new then I found that the pump started making humming noises during a wash then simply wouldn’t run at all. I syphoned the water out, removed the control panel in case it got wet, tipped it up pulled the pump out, removed a small piece of wood, put everything back together then went to test run the machine. After turning on the power the machine started beeping and 2 of wash progress light flashed on and off. The machine wouldn’t respond to the controls at all. I unplugged and removed the control panel again, checked the connections, reconnected the panel, plugged in, turned on and the same thing happened.
I left the machine overnight then in the morning I was about to take it into a repair centre and thought I’ll try it once more, switched on the power point, the machine goes thru the normal power on process (ie, beeps, light flash on then off in sequence) then all the wash progress lights started flashing (on and off together, not from one end to the other), pushed the machine power button on and the machine proceeds to power up and is ready to run as normal.
I put a load through which went fine, but after the machine completed the process, after the final spindry, it started filling with water again. If left the machine will repeat this over and over, rinse – spin, rinse – spin, etc, it’s stuck in some sort of loop.
I have tested the error reporting process but no lights apart from med water level and slow and hold are lit.
Any assistance very much appreciated, regards Dave.
edit, forgot to add that if the machine is turned off at the machine power button (and power point left turned on) all the wash progress lights flash on and off continually – as they do when the power point switch is turned on and the machine’s power button hasn’t yet been pushed “on”

seems there’s a minor issue leftover – doesn’t affect actual operation – when turned on at the power point machine seems to start ok, ie light flash from one end the the other, go out but then the wash progress light (from long wash to short wash) lights flash on and off continually until the machine’s power button is pushed ‘on’
at the end of cycle machine switches itself off completely as per normal, but if power button is pushed then the same wash progress lights start flashing again until a new wash program is started then they switch off
is it possible to stop this lights flashing business at all?

thanks for the help, machine is back to normal now except for the flashing lights as described above
while this doesn’t affect the operation, is it possible to stop them flashing somehow?
