    Hello

This is a long shot i know but here goes

I am looking for either a complete front panel and soap draw front in good condition for my A3110, or does any one have lying around in the back of a stock room a set of replacement trim panels and a new timer knob cover for a Hoover A3110 machine

And whilst I am here the same parts would be good for a Hoover A3308 (white or black trim) and a Hoover A3190

    Thanks
    Gary

Why ? yes i wonder myself sometimes 🙂

I like old washing machines, I like to restore them, i have an even older (early 1960s) Hoover twin tub.

I have a modern machine in the house but i keep all my old ones in the garage and i use them, they all wash really well and are a damsight faster than my modern machine (it takes nearly two hours to do a 40 degree wash) and even then it doesnt always get my work clothes as clean as the old hoover machines.

I work at a re-cycling centre and for years i have seen allsorts of old machines coming though, a few years ago I brought one home, serviced it got it running properly and thought I like this, and that was it every so often a mchine comes in and i bring it home

As you can see i have penchant for old Hoover 1100’s, one day I hope a keymatic will turn up…….

    Electron

Alas I have nothing for this particular type. It must have been a trendy model in its day. I cleared out some old Hoovers a year or two ago and had one with square door but not as mod looking.

Something from my dim and distant past tells me that the covers(though slightly different) for this series of machines were difficult to remove and I have vague memories of the plastic backing splitting from the aluminium front. Must you have this facia plate or will something from other models in the series not do?

Again there were probably different knobs. The end cover I think was just stuck on. I might have one if I rummage in my drawers!

You must be very dedicated. I don’t like throwing out good machines either. I have a Hoover Softwave machine that I have kept going for 15 years.

If you work in a recycling centre you should be better placed than most to get parts for your electron 1100. However I would have taken the opportunity to get a slightly more modern machine and appropriate a couple (stripped down) for spares.

If you are just a “1100 freak” the best of luck

    regards

    Hello

Well thanks for looking anyway, i knew it was a long shot.

If the knob cover is good conditin then yes i would be interested.

The fascia trim plates on this series of machines are held on with double sided tape, a good hot hairdryer and a bit of patience has them coming off eventually

I have plenty of working spares pillaged from other machines at work for my machines but it is the cosmetic parts that are not so easy to come by.

Fortunately all three 1100 machines have at some time in their life been fitted with the later large roller bearings and backplate (the original bearings were very small tape roller jobs that were prone to collapsing) these roller bearings and backplate were used right through to the Logic range

I just like these machines they are easy to work on and thus utterly servicable and wash very well, i do have a current model Bosch in the house so am in no need of a machine as such

I have seen some absolute beauties come through, Miele, Siemens. Bosch etc, i would say we get more Hotpoint/Indesit than any other make, mainly modern ones aswell plus all the usual budget rubbish, i am waiting to see when the hotpoint aqaultis and indesit moons start appearing

    so again thanks

It is a shame what is dumped these days. Machines a few years old with very little wrong.

Worse still I see good machines ariving and being dropped from tail lifts on to the ground to smash in pieces and this is council staff!!!

A local charity here is trying to recycle machines and get employment for people doing up machines. It makes me cringe when I see good machines being abused when they could so easily be repaired.

I will have a hunt for some knob ends – if you excuse the expression!

Re: Hoover A3110 Spare Parts Required

I got a customer rang this evening says she has a leak from the front of her Electron 1100 deluxe A3596 😕 *. She “cant find any holes in the front rubber bit” but thinks it’s probably that. So, thinking I might find the right part no. for the seal here, I did a search for electron and this was one of the few topics that came up.
If it turns out to be in good cosmetic nick but with a rusted through drum, I wonder if I should rescue some bits.
Oh, and is 09024589 the right OEM no. for the seal? Maybe she said A3956? (My main suppliers don’t list a seal for the first model*).
    Mike.
