Whirlpool AWG997 Lost Drum Power On Wash Cycle

Hi All,
I have a Philips Whirlpool AWG997/WH washer/dryer, FA: 912300724, COD: 8537 997 15060.
It works fine apart from when agitating the wash load the drum struggles to turn. I can see the drum attempt to turn, but there isn’t enough power to make the drum move at low speed with a wet load. Spin and all other functions are fine.
I am thinking maybe a loose connection but all looks ok. The drum motor is an induction motor …… Nuova Ibmei, C.P.I. /2/16/158-AR28 and is electronically driven. The motor has 1 Yellow, 1 Green, 1 Red, 1 Black, and 2 Blue connections in addition to two brown wires from the tacho unit. The two Blue wires look to be shorted within the mortor. I’m thinking that they are maybe connected to a overheat device (thermistor etc) or are just shorted out internally.
From what I can see and have tested so far, electrical power is applied to one of the Blue connections, power passes through to the other Blue connection and then back into the Black connection via an external link on the motor plug. The Green, Yellow, Red and White I assume to be the winding connections and these go back to the timer/programmer. I get a resistance reading of between 10 and 60 Ohms from the Black to the others connections.
Having said all that, have any of you guys come across this problem before and have you any idea’s as to what might be at fault? The motor looks to be ok, so I’m looking at maybe either the timer/programmer or the motor driver. As both are a little pricey, I could do with some input from you guy first. Many thanks in advance.
