I have a Whirlpool ADP4601WH which has ceased to do anything useful.

About a week ago the dryer fan began to operate whenever the machine was switched on. At this stage it would still go through the wash cycle and clean the dishes o.k., although the kitchen got quite humid by the end of the cycle!

Yesterday it moved on to Stage 2. When power is first switched on, the wash cycle runs sometimes for a couple of seconds, sometimes not at all. Then no further progress. Meanwhile the dryer fan is cycling in a peculiar way, with speed rising and falling between normal and almost stopped.

    Any advice/information would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bob

More or less got to be a PCB problem – I’d get pro help on this one as the board is over £100 and there may be a “cause and effect” issue.

Penguin45, many thanks for your prompt and useful reply. You have confirmed my worst fears! This machine is only three years old but has already suffered from a string of minor niggles more or less from Day 1. I think it may be time to cut my losses…..

    Regards,

    Bob
