    Element had failed on my neff U1721 – bought a new one and fitted successfully – after getting fan off with a little gentle persuasion….. and element heats up just fine…

    however after running for about a minute or so the fan gets quite noisy, as if there’s something vibrating….

    I’ve taken it off and then pushed it back on as far as it will go, and made sure locking nut is tight but still the same noise….

    Should i be giving it a good wallop to make sure its seated back properly ?

    I noticed there’s a little bit of play in rotor spindle – i.e. it moves in and out slightly – would this cause it – have I maybe done something in getting the fan off originally ?

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated….

    Hi
    Fan probably not far enough down the shaft.
    Remove the fan, get some WD40 or equivalent onto shaft and then offer it back on.
    Dry off residue
    Should slide smoothly until it stops.
