Went to fit a high speed solar grill element today to a Creda cooker (model not known). The old one had failed and only half the grill was working. Fitted new element and switched on to test. The element lit up on both sides fully for about 30 seconds then I noticed on the rear left hand side what I can only describe as ‘arcing’. One of the tubes on the right hand side lit up very bright then that side failed.
We took it out and stripped it but could see no reason for the arcing. I decided to strip both new and old elements down and build one good one out of the two. Re fitted and again the same thing happened. Any ideas?

You reconnected the wiring correctly, did you? :rolls:

Always make a sketch of wiring.

Strange that it should do it twice, all you can do is check the wiring and the energy reg. through, this is what my money would be on. 🙂
