    I have a LEC t062W fridge freezer (fridge at top) and is just over 8 years old. The fridge is warm and the freezer shelves (elements) are cool to touch and all ice has melted. The compressor tries to start every few minutes but goes off within 3-5 seconds.

    I’ve pulled out the appliance and the compressor is hot (but not too hot to touch).

    I’ve removed the relay (Danfoss 103N0016) and it doesn’t look burnt out on the surface. The “C” terminal is loose and rattles but if I hold the “C” terminal there are no noticeable rattles.

    Could it still be a faulty relay or is the compressor a goner?
    Any help would be very useful.

    Sure to be the compressor – Unless you can get a cheap repair it may be time for it to go to fridge heaven.

    Thanks for the speedy answer.
    I was dreading that but had a gut feeling it was time for its last rites. 😥
    Looks like a painful weekend of shopping coming up! Maybe the kids can buy their Mum a new fridge/freezer for Mothers Day! 😉
