Hi i have the above model washing machine 14mths old, after a months we had a new pump fitted (seems common) then the machine was running fine until about 1 month ago. We had a load of washing in and i noticed that the count-down display was giving out random numbers and the washing was just being turned slowly from side to side, so i turned the machine off and tried it again. This time when the machine got to the spinning stage it would count down normally, but once it got to about 9 mins remaining it would stay on this for about 20mins before counting down to the end, and also wasn’t spinning properly (slowly going one way then the other) but not actually spinning fast. So i then removed the load and tried a spin cycle which was done without any problems (Empty) .

Now we are getting an intermitent fault where the clothes are not spun fast yet other times we are, I have read about an unbalanced load etc but don’t think that this is the cause as it was fine for so long and my wifes always loaded the machine the same. We have also got a problem where the machine seems to vibrate alot more than it used to and no matter how i level it off it won’t cure the vibration. I have noticed that if i spin the drum by hand quickly clockwise then it spins around freely but if i spin the drum quickly anti-clockwise it spins then suddenly stops, should this happen? No fault codes have ever been diplayed.
We have contacted currys about the machine as it is just out of warranty and they have told us to get an engineers report stating how much it would cost to repair and they will decide if it is worth repairing or replacing but it is hard to get an engineer out to show the problem as it intermitent. I have spoken to one who said it maybe the computer but he can’t check it.

Sorry for the long post, any advice greatfully recieved. Dan

i wouldnt just dismiss it out of hand, it happens

some people have no problems for many a year, then they do, for no aparant reason

unless theres something stuck between the drums, of course

I thought Samsung washing machines carried a two year warranty.

Check your paperwork and if it does get Smsung out to it.

Re: Samsung P1253 Excess Vibration + Spinning problems!!

Definatley nothing between the drum and the hose and pump is clear, the water drains fine. We have only got a one year warranty, i phoned samsung up when we first got the fault and as it was 13 mths old they said they can not help, but gave me a number for an engineer.

The thing that makes me think something is wrong is that i can not get rid of the vibration when spinning when there is washing in the machine, the drum bounces around, once empty it is fine. Could there be a problem with the motor causing the washing to be left unbalanced when spinning?

I know it has ‘Fuzzy Logic’ so that if it detects a problem it will keep trying to normalize the load, But again we have never had a fault code some up on the machine. Is the drum/motor stopping when i spin the drum anti-clockwise normal? Many thanks for the quick replies so far.

Have checked the springs are secured and still intact – one on the left and two on the right, the bottom ‘dampers’ are also secured. Have just been reading alot of reviews on Samsung washing machines giving similar faults but on different models.

Just been on course and it sound like the machine can not balance the load this it will try and eventually due a slow spin.

This would explain the tumble/slow spin from side to side and the count down changing time as its recalulating time left.

Have yoyu checked the sump hose for a alost sock this would niot let the water flow out quick enough and would also give problems with spinning.
