    Hello,

I have a 3.5 years old Creda SPC60W electric oven that has very recently become faulty.

The problem is that the heating element (not the fan) is ON even if the temperature dial on the front of the oven is OFF. The only way to switch off the element is to switch the oven off using the wall switch. The fan does come ON if you switch the main oven on using the temperature dial, and the rest of the oven (hobs, grill etc) seems fine.

Has anybody come across this problem (with any oven) before, or have any suggestions as to a possible cause?

    Thanks

    Jim

Re: Problems with a Creda SPC60W electric oven

It sounds as though the oven control thermostat may be faulty, checking with a multimeter or meggar is the only way to be certain. If you don’t have access to those or the know how to use them then it is time to call for the cavalry. 😉

Please be sure to isolate from the mains if you intend to have a look.

NB. There are two different oven controls used on these models, full serial number is required to ID correct t parts.

    Jim.
