    Hi there
I have a recurring problem with a Zanussi zx99/5SI fridge freezer. Freezer working fine but fridge not. Warning lights (somtimes one, sometimes all) come on saying temperature too warm in fridge. I have tried the usual defrost etc. and fault recurrs after about ten days. New probe fitted 18 months ago and working fine until about two weeks ago. De-frosted again but fault now back.

There is ice forming in the outlet from top of the freezer compartment, which is presumably stopping the cold air getting to the fridge.

I don’t think that this model has a de-frost timer, so is this time for a new main PCB? or is there anything else that it could be ?

    If it helps, Product No.928405933
    Serial No.3370012

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hi

Is it ICE or SNOW that is forming round the duct ? depending on this depends the posible fault.

    Hi Bryan
Thanks for your quick response !
    It’s definitely ice.
I’m not sure of the correct name for the part that was iced up, but when you remove/pull forward the ‘roof’ section of the freezer that houses the aluminium ‘fins’ the duct that was iced up is located at the top left hand side and has an approx. 22mm tube attached.

(I think that this drains water away, presumably when it auto defrosts, because one service engineer did not re-locate the tube properly and I ended up with pools of water on the floor).

When I first had the problem, when the probe set was replaced, it was the aluminium fins that were heavily snowed up, but this time it was definitely ice.

    Any ideas?

If you need more info, just let me know.

    Thanks a lot

    Liz
