ParticipantHi don’t know whether anyone can help me. My dishwasher is leaking quite badly. Seems to happen 10/15 mins into cycle, when large puddle appears round the front of the machine.
I had a look at the seals round the door and noticed that the one which inside the hinge where the door and body meets is warped and has come away. I can just about feel it – and it doesnt seem to attatched to anything. Could this be the cuprit.
I can’t see directly where the leak is coming from other than it’s a bit damp at bottom of the door and the obvious puddle.
I have had a look for a replacement seal but can’t see anywhere. I was going to take the door off tonight to have a look.
Just wondered if anyone can give me any pointers.March 11, 2008 at 4:04 pm #245473iadom

Parts diagram doesn’t show any seals actually on or in the door, only the seal that goes up both sides and across the top.
I wouldn’t start trying to take the door off, all the wiring loom goes through the door so best left alone for now.
They are not the best made machine on the market and the cabinet can easily twist.
Can you post a picture of the seal you say is warped?
Jim.

I went into a local parts dealer at lunch time, they have just called to tell me its part of the door assy. Replacement is £60! so stumped really.
Bit stuck too to take a photo as its a case of can feel it but can’t see it.
Not sure what to do now.March 11, 2008 at 4:59 pm #245475iadom

you may get an answer later from one of the Indesit or Comet engineers, they may know of a fix.
The door comes as two separate panels so it may be possible to access the seal after you have removed the outer door panel. If you do attempt this, be sure to unplug the machine and watch the inner door edges, razor sharp. 😯Jim.

Had a look last night (11pm!). It does look like the seal is causing the problem. Its lost all is shape and elasticity. Can’t see why it comes as the door assy though. Put it back on in the correct place hasn’t leaked yet but don’t hold out much hope. Can’t beleive what a stupid design it it. Surely after 1000’s rubber is going to warp.

There is a kit to replace the bottom door seal.
C00056475 on partfinder at £29
It is a secondary seal which clips to the tub.Leave the old seal in place, the door will be a bit stiff for a few days but will soon settle in.March 12, 2008 at 8:50 pm #245479iadom
