ParticipantHave been to a Bosch dishwasher repair,
Customer has told me they phoned bosch about dishwasher not emptying
and have been advised they can unblock it themselves if they buy a hexagon screwdriver and told how to do it, Lucky for me they preferred to phone me.
What if they unscrewed sump or cut their hand on broken glass
Its a strange thing to do turn work away.March 12, 2008 at 8:41 pm #245683lerch

I have been told this by customers on several occasions. It always makes me slightly concerned about carrying out the repair afterwards, who knows how far a customer will go before deciding that they need an engineer after all.

I know what you mean I went to one the other day and customer had released the sump housing what a nightmare. He could not understand why it was leaking when it filled / washed. !!!! 👿

The user book contains details of how to access the drain pump, so it may just be a polite way of suggesting that customers RTFM.

Nine times out of ten when those customers that take time to read the user booklet, sus out the pump and unblock it. Then don’t put the pump cover back on before trying it to see if it works?
Then you get the phone call……“My husband has had a look at the pump last night and removed a piece of glass but it still don’t work. Please can you call to fix it?
It’s then a win win situation for BSH or us indies.8) (Provided of course they don’t then go on the Internet to enquire :rolls: )
