ParticipantHave been out to this oven today, could not get it to fault. Customer says she cannot get the oven to start sometimes. This usually happens when it’s used a couple of times and is warm. The temp can be set but when you press the center button, nothing, display still shows temp.
Are the start micro-switch liable to fail?
Or is it more like a power pcb fault? It does not sound like it’s overheating, cooling fan working, no dry joints on the power pcb.
Any pointers appreciated

This by the sound of it a control board fault. If you can set the temp then it won’t have anything to do with the start button. Unless you use the timer or turn the machine off at the wall, you never need to use the centre microswitch. cheers rob

Hi Rob,
I’m not sure now, only fixed a few of these.
This customer pushed the center button to start the oven, will it auto-start anyway after a few sec’s once the temp is set?
I have downloaded the instructions, it does not say anything about this button apart from how to set the time.
Regards,

HI, yes thats right. When you 1st turn the power on to these ovens…its says stop. then you press the button 2 or 3 times until the triangle is flashing in the bottom right hand corner. you then set the time with the right hand push dial/temp selector. once you’ve set the time you then press the button…clock set… when you start the oven you don’t touch the button…thats why it can only be the power board. when you select fan oven, it will start at 160c and you use the right hand dial to adjust temp. hope this helps.. Rob
