    Hi Lads,

Had an interesting e-mail from our Pengi’

He say’s he’s come across a couple of ISE 2’s with a bur of plastic left on the down pipe of the conditioner compartment syphoning tubes that can restrict or stop the machine from taking conditioner.

He say’s it’s a simple matter to remove this excess plastic with a craft knife.

Can you guy’s just check the syphoning tubes when you install your next ISE 2 and let me know if you find any that are the same, along with it’s serial no please.

Probably just blip on one or two machines but we need to know.

    Cheers

    Sean

Thanks for that link Sean. I have already changed draw and syphoning tube but the problem is still the same. Fabric softener is flushing away o.k. but leaving compartment full of clean water. Any suggestions.
    Regards Ron

I had already changed soap draw and syphoning tube which did not help so Sean sent me replacement soap box, inlet valve and hoses. Returned old parts to him for testing. (any faults Sean) This seems to have cured the fault as I have not heard from the customer since. Let us Know how you get on Jim.
    Regards Ron.

    Re: ISE2 Not Taking Conditioner

Thing is Lads I have a workshop full of half robbed machines stacked two and even three machines high, as I am in the middle of trying to build a robust stock and ordering system for all the parts we need to support you guys in the field.

It was always my intention to have a row of returned case damaged, test bed machines to fit some of the returned faulty parts too, to try and come up with some answers to some of the faults that the Guy’s were finding in the field.

That was a pretty easy exercise whilst we had only one model of appliance. The problem was, that in the early days with the original ISE5, if the lads had a problem no matter what it was, they would automatically order a PCB. Yet when I tested a lot of these early returned modules, when I fitted them to my test machine in the workshop the bloody things worked fine. Approx 8 out of 10 tested OK

This can only mean that the faults were actually due to either :-

    A) Loose connections
    B) Out of balance
    C) Blocked filters
    D) Wrong program selection
    E) Customer education

I’m not having a pop at anyone here as we were all on a learning curve but once the lads had actually attended a few repairs and got a feel for the machines and how they operated the demand for PCB’S soon tailed off.

Every time some one phones with a new problem they have conquered I always ask and encourage them to post a description of it up on the ISE support forum so that we can build up our own data base of service bulletins /updates.

You have to understand that some of you guys, especially those with service areas in the larger city’s and conurbations actually get to see a lot more service calls in the field than I do.

When John has picked up the odd problem machine (From all ends of the country! Bless him ) for me to test, then, invariably by the time it gets to me then some one is desperate for a couple of spares which I have just run out of and have to rob from said machine. (Not affected Parts I hasten to add)

That said, I fitted Ron’s returned dispenser which I received tail end of last week
And on the three washes I have tried it on so far it has taken the conditioner without leaving any water behind.

Does this make Ron and his customer Liar’s?
Certainly not ! What I am trying to say in my long winded response
is that faults do not always replicate on different machines.

This is why I strongly encourage you guys to share your pointers, hint’s, tip’s and experiences on this forum as there can be a plethora of reasons why a machine will present certain similar faults on different machines and the more we share, the easier it will become to zero in on the actual fault.

    Re: ISE2 Not Taking Conditioner

Strange one, returned this morning, water still in conditioner compartment.
No sign of any moulding flaws.

Removed drawer and filled under tap and it syphoned out perfectly every time.

Replaced into machine and filled with a kettle three or four times, again syphoned out perfectly. 😕

Will just have to see how it goes.

    Jim.
