    Hi,

Recently my washing machine has stopped emptying the water out after a cycle. I tried the usual method of cleaning the filter which i found a bra wire and 11 pence. I tried the cycle again and it still doesn’t empty. The pump motor works though as i can see it turning when i’ve emptied it the last time. The pipe isn’t blocked either as i’ve blown into it.

Any ideas what it could be?

    Many thanks in advance.

if the pump runs, its either breaking down under load, or there is definately a blockeage, be that in the sump (which isnt the grey pipe) or the end where it attatches under the sink!?! (if it isnt in a standpipe)

    hope this helps

I’ve taken the washing out and the pump is running like when i have a load in. I’ve blown in the grey pipe and thats clear. Even with the filter out there is water still in the washing machine that i can see.

So this sump most likely is blocked. Will check it out

    Is it easy to do?

Many thanks. I just opened up that sump black pipe and i pulled out what looks like a pink babygrow.

    You’re a star.

One more question, there is a plastic ball in there,is that suppose to be there?

The motor plug seems to be connected and i can turn the drum with my hand. Maybe water got into it.

    I’ll have another look.

Success, looks like water got onto the module board so i took it out and dryed it up with the hair dyer and put it back in. It works now so many thanks for your help as you saved me money.
