    Hi,

I have a 15 year old Hoover Autosense (D5626?) tumble dryer which has served me very well. I am trying to source a new filter guard for it but unfortunately the item became obsolete in 2004 and I am unable to find one in the online shops. Can anyone point me in the direction where I can get hold of a replacement filter guard?

It is very doubtful you’ll get one Neil unless someone happens to have one lying abut on a shelf somewhere. 🙁

How about where someone has access to these tumble dryers on a scarp heap somewhere?

    They get crushed usually.

Too many variants to keep old spares for and, with lifespans getting shorter, most manufacturers don’t stock spares much beyond eight years. Some now openly admit that they design machines with a 5-8 year life expectancy.

No-one keeps them, they either get scrapped or they get reconditioned if it’s possible.

If you mean the lint filter that sits at the back of the drum, i will keep an eye out for you for as far as i know these are the same on the older Hoover Dryer de luxe and logic models
